Job summary

Ward Security in Birmingham is seeking a Security Team Leader to oversee security operations at a corporate facility. You will lead and support the on-site security team, ensuring professional service and robust security procedures day and night.

The role requires a valid SIA licence and CCTV qualifications, with a focus on client service, incident response, and detailed reporting. A 4 on 4 off shift pattern provides 42 hours weekly in the Birmingham area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or leadership security role.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in corporate security.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Professional attitude and presentation; strong report writing.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary on-site point of contact for staff, visitors and contractors.
• Lead and support the on-site security team and ensure policy compliance.
• Provide clear information in person, by phone or email to visitors.
• Elevate incidents to management as required and manage emergencies.
• Maintain professional presence and set team standards.
• Oversee ID checks and access control procedures.
• Supervise reception, foyer, and boardrooms to remain presentable.
• Produce clear verbal and written incident reports.
• Support Health & Safety vigilance and risk awareness.

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Security Team Leader to oversee security operations at a prominent corporate facility in the heart of Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting a security team, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, maintaining a clean and professional environment, and upholding robust security procedures. You will have a strong background in the security sector, demonstrate leadership and decision‑making capabilities, be IT proficient, and always present a polished and professional image.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will act as a key point of contact for staff, visitors, and management. You will oversee ID checks, respond to and manage incidents and emergencies, and ensure your team operates in line with site and company standards.

Main Duties

• Act as the primary point of contact for staff, visitors, and contractors
• Lead and support the on‑site security team, ensuring compliance with procedures
• Ensure visitors and callers receive clear, accurate, and professional information in person, by phone, or email
• Manage and elevate incidents to management as required
• Maintain a professional presence and set standards for the team
• Respond to and manage emergencies effectively
• Handle conflict appropriately and confidently
• Ensure incident reports are completed accurately and to company standards
• Oversee ID checks and access control
• Maintain vigilance regarding Health & Safety risks
• Work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Supervise cleaning staff to ensure reception, foyer, staff areas, and boardrooms remain clean and presentable
