Job summary

Griffith Foods is recruiting a Dry Blending Production Manager in the United Kingdom to plan and control Dry Blending activities, directing staff, plant and materials to meet budget and quality standards.

You will manage daily KPI performance, drive lean initiatives, and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely, cost-effective production while upholding H&S, GMP and quality guidelines. This role focuses on operational excellence and staff development.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years in food manufacturing.
• Min 3 years in people management within production.
• Computer literate with Microsoft applications.
• Good written and oral communication.
• Lean manufacturing experience with relevant techniques.
• Operational background with proven track record.

Responsibilities

• Plan staff and materials to achieve production targets as per budget; monitor and adjust as needed.
• Develop and maintain structure within Dry Blending to allocate duties and supervisory roles.
• Maintain high standards to ensure consistent, first-time quality output.
• Achieve daily KPIs and escalate issues to senior management.
• Ensure cost-effective waste controls within Dry Blending.
• Manage KPI measurement systems: Yield, Downtime, OEE.
• Coordinate with internal departments on communication affecting service levels.
• Adhere to H&S, Hygiene, GMP and Quality guidelines for all team members.
• Coordinate stock takes and cycle counts with warehouse and supply chain.
• Deliver training plans and lean initiatives aligned with site strategy.

The purpose of the role

To plan and control the Dry Blending production activities to meet the requirements for internal and external customers. Direct activities so that the staff, plant, and materials are used within agreed budgets to produce the highest quality within the best standards. Responsible & accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the production lines. Our intention is to be the industry leader for the chosen categories, creating an area of operational excellence through continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Essential:

• Planning staff and materials to achieve production targets as per budget. Monitor progress and adjust on a need’s basis.
• Plan, develop and maintain operational structure within the Dry Blending areas to ensure correct allocation of duties, the right supervisory role and responsibility.
• Work to the highest standards to achieve consistent production of high-quality product, prioritising "First Time Quality".
• To be responsible and accountable for achieving daily KPI’s, escalating any issues to senior management.
• In conjunction with internal departments, ensure that the systems for cost effective Dry Blending waste controls are in place.
• To ensure the management and control of the KPI measurement systems (Yield / Downtime & OEE)
• Ensure we are aligned with internal departments on communication and changes that may affect service levels both internal and external.
• To ensure that company and departmental guidelines are rigorously always adhered to by all team members including H&S, Hygiene, GMP and Quality & all other key stakeholders.
• In conjunction with warehouse and supply chain ensure that the stock take, and cycle counts are structured and effective.
• Deliver company training plans and initiatives as and when required.
• Deliver lean initiatives in line with Site / Company strategy.

Others:

• The management of his/her team members including recruitment, training & development, PAGs, absence & grievance disciplinary procedures.
• Work with the GCI team to strive for improvements in the performance of the resources available I.E plant, equipment, and people.
• Manage new product introduction within the Dry Blending departments from an operational perspective.
• Maintain strong relationships with all key interfaces & Stake holders.
• To be the main Dry Blending liaison for customer visits and audits.
• To undertake any other associated duties that may arise.
• Maintain and develop contacts within the industry to ensure that Griffith remains competitive and up to date within your area of responsibility.

Requirements

• Good educational background with relevant management qualifications.
• Min 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
• Min 3 years’ experience in people management within production environment.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Good standard of written and oral communication.
• Experience of working in a lean manufacturing environment with understanding of relevant techniques.
• An operational background / level of experience would be highly desirable for this role with a proven track record.

Compensation

The starting base salary for this position is £31,922.04 + £4,984.68 shift allowance gross per year.
