Team Leader – Fabric Bias | Imperial College London, White City Campus

Are you a hands-on team leader with a strong background in fabric maintenance and a passion for customer service? Join us at Imperial College London’s cutting-edge White City Campus, where you'll play a crucial role in keeping our facilities running smoothly and professionally.

We’re looking for a Fabric-Biased Team Leader who’s ready to take charge, lead a small team, and be the go-to person for ensuring the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance. If you're motivated by quality work, proactive problem-solving, and building strong relationships, this could be your next step.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day maintenance operations, with a focus on statutory and mandated PPMs and responsive repairs
• Manage on-site contractors, permits, risk assessments, and compliance
• Oversee tools, uniforms, stores, and expense items to keep the team running efficiently
• Prioritize health and safety and champion best practices across the site
• Act as a point of contact for stakeholders like Building Managers and Maintenance Managers
• Deputise for the Supervisor when needed and support contract planning
• Spot opportunities for commercial development and minor works
• Attend training and occasionally support across other Imperial College London sites

What You will Bring

• A time-served background in a relevant trade (fabric maintenance, carpentry, decorating, plastering, etc.)
• Experience managing a small maintenance team and leading by example
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A working knowledge of CAFM systems, digital tools, and Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with health & safety requirements in engineering environments
• Proven experience installing locks and handling general joinery

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• IOSH Managing Safely (we’ll support you to gain this if needed)
• Experience working in regulated environments such as laboratories, healthcare, or food production
