Job summary

Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool in Wimbledon is seeking a Room Lead to guide your room team, plan engaging activities and ensure high-quality care for children aged 0–5. You will foster a warm, safe environment and build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.

You should hold a full Level 3 (Early Years) or higher, with EYFS and safeguarding knowledge and previous leadership experience or readiness to step up.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or above.
• Experience in an early years setting.
• Previous room leadership experience or confidence to lead.
• Good understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Caring, positive approach and a passion for children's learning.

Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool – Dundonald Road, Wimbledon

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Our nursery provides a welcoming environment for children aged 0–5 years, with dedicated spaces for babies, toddlers and preschool children. Located opposite Dundonald Park, we offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor play and learning.

We follow the EYFS and Curiosity Approach, with fun activities including Forest School, Boogie Mites, Teddy Tennis, yoga and Bilingual Beats. Our learning programmes encourage children to explore, be creative and develop new skills, and our on-site chef prepares fresh meals every day.

What will you be doing?

Leading and supporting your room team to provide high-quality care and education.

What are we looking for?

A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or above.

Experience working in an early years setting.

Previous room leadership experience or the confidence to take the next step into a leadership role.

A good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

A caring, positive approach and a passion for children's learning and development.
