Job Title: Team Leader - Homelessness Service

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

The organisation

In this Housing Team Leader opportunity in Chesterfield, you will join a charity helping vulnerable young people gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless. The role is to help customers manage their own money to maintain their tenancy long-term, whilst also leading and developing a team of frontline workers.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a small caseload of clients living in temporary accommodation, assisting with housing support and benefits applications, including complex needs.
• Undertaking supervisions for all staff members, monitoring targets, KPIs, and performance.
• Supporting tenants to pay rent and service charges, providing financial advice.
• Promoting independence among tenants in temporary accommodation.
• Maintaining health and safety procedures on site to ensure safety of customers and staff.
• Creating staff rotas and managing sickness and absences, maintaining up-to-date records.

Skills & experience

• Proven experience in supported housing or homelessness sectors.
• Previous senior or team leader experience.
• Ability to work flexibly between 8am-8pm during weekdays.
• A valid DBS clearance for child and adult work issued within the last 12 months or on the update service.
