Boots UK is seeking a proactive Night Shift Team Leader to manage our Burton Service Centre operations. You will guide a team of warehouse colleagues through 12-hour night shifts, ensuring safety, accuracy and on-time delivery of targets across quality, service and productivity.

Shift Pattern: 4 days in, 4 days off Hours: 22:00 – 10:00 (12-hour shifts) - Total - 38.5 hrs

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Department Manager, you will lead a team of warehouse colleagues within our Burton Service Centre Night Shift operation, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and on time.

You will take ownership of your team’s performance, development and engagement while delivering operational targets across safety, service, quality and productivity. You will coach and support colleagues, set clear expectations and create a positive team culture that delivers excellent service for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of warehouse colleagues(Close to around 30), taking ownership of their performance, engagement and development.
• Delivering productivity, quality, attendance and service targets.
• Coaching colleagues to maximise performance and capability.
• Monitoring team performance and taking action to improve results.
• Delivering team briefings and maintaining clear communication throughout the shift.
• Supporting workflow and resource allocation across operational areas.
• Maintaining shift handovers and operational updates.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, security and operational standards.
• Working collaboratively with support departments to resolve operational issues.
• Creating a positive, engaged and high-performing team culture.

What You'll Need To Have (our Must-haves)

These are the essential experience needed to succeed in this role.

• Proven experience directly leading and managing a team within a warehouse, logistics or operational environment.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills, with the ability to engage, support and motivate colleagues while setting clear expectations.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop colleagues, identifying development or performance gaps and following through on improvement.
• Ability to assess operational issues, identify root causes, set priorities and take clear action.
• Experience using operational KPIs and performance data to prioritise workload, deploy resource and improve results.
• A proactive approach to safety, identifying risks and taking action to maintain safe working practices.
• Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using operational systems and reporting tools.
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of challenges.
• Experience managing people processes including performance, attendance, absence and conduct, with confidence having difficult conversations and supporting formal investigations where required.

It would be great if you also have

• Experience within an automated distribution environment.
• Previous experience in warehouse, outbound or e-commerce operations.
• Experience managing agency colleagues.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement or operational improvement activities.
