More about the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s (Eastern) Elective Orthopaedic service as a Band 6 Team Lead Physiotherapist. While part of the Royal Devon’s Physiotherapy service, this position is based at the South-West Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre (SWAOC) at the Nightingale Hospital.
This 37.5-hour/week position (fixed term for 12 months) involves managing a clinical caseload of complex patients across the Orthopaedic unit, ensuring assessment and treatment from pre-assessment and prehab to post-operative assessment and rehabilitation, facilitating a rapid patient flow and timely follow-up.
The post-holder will manage and supervise the Physiotherapy team, communicate the rehabilitation process to patients and relatives, and monitor therapy performance and outcomes across the unit.
Additionally, they will assist in training and developing less experienced staff, including undergraduates and other professionals, contributing to a safe, effective, evidence-based service.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, across 7 days including weekends and bank holidays, between 8am and 8pm.
