Job description

SuperCare is seeking an experienced Team Leader (2 years) to oversee operations at a new residential children's home near Norwood Junction. Adaptability is essential, as the role involves responding to changing demands. The responsibilities include leading shifts, developing support plans for young people, and promoting their welfare in accordance with the Children Act 1989. This description is flexible and may be updated to reflect evolving needs.

  • Lead shifts, develop support plans with young people, and coordinate support packages to meet their needs, promoting their physical, emotional, and social welfare in line with the Children Act 1989.

Main Duties:

  • Provide direct support and care for young people, including key working and active involvement during shifts.
  • Collaborate with young people, social workers, carers, and other agencies to monitor and review Care Plans, risk assessments, and placement plans, aiding positive transitions and independence.
  • Maintain health and safety standards, make autonomous decisions regarding young people's requests and behavior during shifts.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to key working and daily operations of the home.
  • Empower young people to take responsibility for their lives, keep them informed, involve them in planning, and support their independence.
  • Lead a shift effectively.

Household Responsibilities:

  • Participate in practical activities to maintain the home.
  • Care for the building, equipment, and environment.
  • Manage allocated funds responsibly.
  • Report repairs and ensure necessary actions are taken.
  • Ensure nutritious meals are prepared by staff.
  • Conduct health and safety checks per policies and regulations.

Personal Development:

  • Stay informed of best practices to enhance skills and knowledge, following a personal development plan.
  • Utilize regular supervision sessions.
  • Report malpractice or concerns to a line manager or appropriate person.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by management.
  • Work shifts including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
  • Be flexible to work at other SuperCare properties as needed.
  • This role may involve varying duties to meet overall job requirements.
