ROBERTSON RECRUITMENT SERVICES LIMITED in Nottingham is seeking a skilled CNC laser shift lead for a permanent night role. You will lead the night-shift laser department, set and monitor CNC laser-cutting machinery, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met.

The ideal candidate has setting/operating CNC lasers, team-leading experience, strong health and safety awareness, and the ability to read drawings to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC laser-cutting machines.
• Team-leading or supervisory experience.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Able to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Organise workloads and make decisions during busy shifts.
• Clear communication skills.
• Willing to work permanent nights on a 4-on, 4-off rota.
• Experience with Trumpf, Bystronic or Amada lasers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support CNC laser operators throughout the night shift.
• Set, operate and monitor CNC laser-cutting machinery.
• Allocate workloads and organise shift priorities to meet production schedules.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Ensure all components are manufactured accurately and to the required quality standards.
• Complete first-off inspections and routine quality checks.
• Ensure accurate completion of production paperwork and shift handovers.
• Support the training and development of new and existing team members.

Shift: Nights, 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6am

Contract: Permanent

We are open to skilled laser operatives ready for their next step, or experienced Team Leaders with strong laser operation experience.

You will lead the night-shift laser department, ensuring production targets, quality standards and health and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
