Newfield Fabrications Co. in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Laser Operator to join our busy fabrication team. You will operate Trumpf CNC laser machines, interpret drawings, and help ensure accurate, high‑quality parts.

The role starts with a day shift during training and moves to rotating 6–2 and 2–10 shifts. A New Starter incentive of £2000 applies, with competitive pay, overtime, ongoing training, and a secure full‑time position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating Trumpf CNC laser machines.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD layouts.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Basic mechanical skills for day-to-day maintenance.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Trumpf CNC laser cutting machines.
• Work from engineering drawings, CAD files and job sheets to produce accurate parts.
• Select materials and cutting parameters for each job.
• Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Follow health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with team to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Participate in continuous improvement and keep workspace clean and organized.
• Initially working day shift during training, then rotate 6-2 and 2-10 shifts.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience operating Trumpf CNC laser machines.
• Good understanding of laser cutting processes and steel materials.
• Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD layouts.
• Experience with Trumpf software is a big plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands‑on approach.
• Basic mechanical skills for day-to‑day maintenance.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
