Job summary

Robertson Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC laser team leader for a permanent night shift. You will lead the night-shift laser department, set and monitor laser-cutting machinery, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met.

The role requires experience in CNC laser operation, team leadership, and strong reading of engineering drawings. You will be pivotal in prioritising workloads and ensuring safe, efficient night-time production.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC laser-cutting machines.
• Team-leading, supervisory or senior operator experience.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
• Able to organise workloads and make effective decisions during a busy shift.
• Strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working permanent nights on a 4-on, 4-off rota.
• Experience with Trumpf, Bystronic or Amada laser machinery would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support CNC laser operators throughout the night shift.
• Set, operate and monitor CNC laser-cutting machinery.
• Allocate workloads and organise shift priorities to meet production schedules.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Ensure all components are manufactured accurately and to the required quality standards.
• Complete first-off inspections and routine quality checks.
• Ensure accurate completion of production paperwork and shift handovers.
• Support the training and development of new and existing team members.

Shift: Nights, 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6am

Contract: Permanent

We are open to skilled laser operatives ready for their next step, or experienced Team Leaders with strong laser operation experience.

You will lead the night-shift laser department, ensuring production targets, quality standards and health and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
