Job summary

Keighley College is recruiting a Teaching Facilitator in Carpentry and Joinery to join our Construction and Building Services department. You will support the Carpentry and Joinery team with technician tasks, as well as plan, teach, and assess learning within the department.

You will inspire learners, plan schemes of work, deliver teaching, and assess progress while building positive relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering teaching sessions in Carpentry and Joinery.
• Ability to teach and assess learning and provide progress feedback.
• Willingness to gain CertEd qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
• Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
• Motivate students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
• Use restorative practice approaches and promote inclusive teaching strategies.
• Attend to necessary administrative duties within the department.

You will support the Carpentry and Joinery team with technician tasks, as well as plan, teach, and assess learning within the department. Part of the role will require some administrative duties. It is a role ideally suited for a person with a Carpentry and Joinery background who wants to start or progress their career in teaching.
