Job summary

VALENCE SCHOOL in the United Kingdom is seeking a Teaching Cover Supervisor to join our Education Team and help maintain high-quality learning experiences for our students during teacher absences.

You will supervise classes, support learners, and collaborate with staff to ensure lessons run smoothly, with a focus on safe and inclusive environments and positive student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students remain engaged in learning activities and follow the work provided.
• Use initiative and creativity where required to support learning and maintain positive classroom environments.
• Work closely with teachers and other colleagues to ensure lessons are delivered effectively and students receive appropriate support.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement, progress, and any issues arising during cover lessons.
• Maintain safe, secure, and inclusive learning environments that support student wellbeing and achievement.
• Support students as part of the wider Student Support Assistant team when not undertaking lesson cover duties.
• Invigilate internal and external assessments and examinations when required.
