Job summary

Mossbourne Fobbing Academy seeks to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our supportive SEND-focused team. The role involves assisting teachers, supporting student independence, and contributing to an inclusive classroom environment at a thriving, innovative federation.

The post is permanent, full-time (34.5 hours per week) with salary on the Teaching Assistant Pay Scale S1-S6 (£22,953–£24,302 p.a. FTE), with actual pay aligned to hours. Start ASAP, closing date 16 Oct 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in supporting SEND students is desirable.
• Ability to work under supervision of teachers and other staff.
• Strong organisational and communication skills for classroom support.

Responsibilities

• Support the inclusion of students with SEND in all aspects of academy life.
• Assist teachers with planning and providing learning activities.
• Support students in small groups or 1:1 to develop independence and outcomes.

• Mossbourne Port Side Academy (MPSA) secondary, Thurrock
• Mossbourne Riverside Academy (MRA) primary, Hackney
• Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy (MVPA) secondary, Hackney

You must be passionate about education, well organised and willing to go the extra mile to ensure our SEND students achieve independence and brilliant outcomes. Teaching Assistants work closely with other staff, carrying out a wide variety of tasks under the direction and supervision of teachers and other Curriculum Support Department staff to support the inclusion of students with SEND in all aspects of academy life.
