About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted assistance to students. Your role will be crucial in enhancing learning experiences, reinforcing lesson content, and promoting positive engagement and behaviour.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students who need additional help.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation.
• Support students with learning activities, personal development, and classroom engagement.
• Help manage classroom behaviour using effective strategies.
• Assist with lesson preparation, resource creation, and classroom organisation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to support student progress.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
• Knowledge of the curriculum and effective teaching support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy and an understanding of how to support children’s individual needs.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) is desirable but not essential.
• Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
