Vacancy: Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September

Duration: One or Two terms

Rate of Pay: GBP90-GBP125 per day

I am currently looking for a Teaching Assistants to work at a special school based on the Derby/Nottingham border. This is for a long term position however there are also more flexible day to day opportunities available as well.

School Details: The school is a special school providing for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) as well as profound and complex learning difficulties. It is currently graded Good with Outstanding Features including pupil welfare and safety. The school prides itself on providing a happy and caring environment for its pupils as well as ensuring that pupils achieve academically.

Job Role: There is soon to be a requirement for a full time TA. Duties will include assisting pupils with a range of learning difficulties and will involve some pastoral responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to work with learners with a variety of ages.

Candidate Requirements: It is crucial that candidates have previous experience of working with pupils affected by SLD and other learning difficulties. A L3 TA qualification is a minimum level requirement. Manual handling experience is preferential however this may be offered by the school. You MUST have a demonstrable empathetic and caring approach and a genuine desire to work with pupils affected by disabilities and other learning difficulties.
