Job summary

Outwood Grange Academies Trust’s Outwood Junior Academy Brumby in Scunthorpe is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teachers, deliver planned activities and help individual students and small groups. The role covers classroom assistance, intervention work for SEND and EAL learners, and the development of personalised student support plans, with a focus on safeguarding and welfare.

The post is term-time only with a 27.25 hour week and additional days, offering a structured career

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a school environment or with children and young people.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work flexibly.
  • Willingness to undertake necessary training, including safeguarding and care plan duties.

Responsibilities

  • Implement planned learning activities and support the teacher with monitoring and recording student progress.
  • Provide support for students with SEND or EAL and help develop individual plans like One Page Profiles and EHCPs.
  • Support students with social and emotional well-being, assist with eating, dressing and hygiene as required, and provide cover in intervention settings.
  • Escort and supervise students on educational visits and invigilate examinations.
