Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a confident Senior Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a North Manchester primary setting. You will work with teachers to differentiate activities and help coordinate daily classroom routines.

The role suits an experienced practitioner who can take initiative, lead small groups, monitor progress and support personal care where needed. A Level 3 TA qualification and SEND experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is required.
• Recent experience working with children with SEND in a school or educational setting.
• Experience leading groups, activities or classroom support and good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND through differentiated learning activities.

Senior Teaching Assistant - SEND & Classroom Support

North Manchester Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity Aspire People

Aspire People are seeking a confident and qualified Senior Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs within a primary school setting in North Manchester.

This role would suit an experienced practitioner who can take initiative, support structured learning and help coordinate day-to-day classroom activities.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with SEND through differentiated learning activities
• Leading small-group sessions and targeted interventions
• Supporting children with autism, communication difficulties and developmental needs
• Helping organise classroom routines and smooth transitions
• Taking responsibility for activities and supporting the deployment of other support staff where appropriate
• Monitoring pupil engagement and sharing feedback with teaching staff
• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
• Supporting personal care where required

Essential Requirements:

• A recognised Level 3 qualification or above in Teaching Assistance, Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEND or an equivalent relevant qualification
• Recent practical experience working with children with SEND in a school or relevant educational setting
• Experience taking responsibility for groups, activities or classroom support
• Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence using initiative while following guidance from teaching staff
