Job description

Elevate Supply is supporting an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ primary school in Unsworth looking for a confident and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This long-term role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs in a mainstream classroom setting.

About the Role:

Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.

Supporting children with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement learning and behaviour strategies

Promoting pupil engagement, inclusion, and independence

Supporting with communication tools and personalised interventions

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school

Calm, consistent and confident when managing behaviour and needs

Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

Knowledge of autism, sensory needs, or emotional regulation strategies

Any relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, PECS, Makaton) is beneficial
