Job summary

Masterclass Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students in SEN and SEMH settings. You will help pupils access personalised curricula, build trust, and assist with schoolwork while being a reliable point of contact.

CPD online training is provided, including safeguarding, autism awareness, child development, and more. Successful candidates may start as soon as possible, with weekly pay and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Direct experience in schools is not required but preferred; inexperienced candidates considered on transferrable skills.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s progress across all development areas.
• Support and encourage positive behaviour management.
• Work one-to-one to assist the class teacher in specific lessons.
• Create a safe and secure environment for pupils to feel relaxed and happy.
• Establish positive relationships with children and school staff.
• Commit to inclusive practice to help every child reach their best.
• Provide personal care if needed.

Masterclass Education are working closely with SEN schools to help them with both their temporary and long term staffing for this term and the new academic year!

Our specialist SEN / SEMH team are currently looking for dedicated, reliable, and willing candidates to place within a variety of roles supporting students to achieve their goals.

As a teaching assistant, you are expected to support students with accessing their individualised curriculum and education pathway. You will need to be able to build a strong and a trusting relationship, support them with their schoolwork but also be the someone that they can talk to if they need to.

Direct experience working within schools is not required however it is preferred; inexperienced candidates will be considered dependant on transferrable skills.

Masterclass Education provide CPD recognised online training, covering subjects such as Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Understanding Child Development, Violence Reduction, and more, to all our candidates.

The ideal candidate would need to start as soon as they can.

Job role:

• To support the children’s progress across all areas of their development

• Work with an individual (1-1) to support the class teacher in specific lessons
• Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling pupils to feel relaxed and happy
• To establish positive relationships with the children and staff within the school
• To be committed to inclusive practice and making sure every child has the chance to be the best they can be
