Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with SEMH and additional needs in specialist settings across North Liverpool. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with de-escalation and behaviour management, and work closely with teachers to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Experience handling challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism or ADHD.
• Experience supporting pupils with emotional and social difficulties.
• Proficiency in de-escalation and behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group assistance.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs in class and during breaks.
• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to develop independence and learning strategies.
• Assist with de-escalation techniques and behaviour management in challenging situations.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and adapt activities for diverse needs.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children and young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH and additional needs?

We are currently recruiting experienced TAs for a number of specialist schools and alternative provisions across North Liverpool, with both short- and long-term opportunities available.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience supporting pupils with:

• SEMH and behavioural needs
• Challenging or dysregulated behaviour
• Autism and ADHD
• Emotional and social difficulties
• De-escalation and behaviour management
• 1:1 and small-group support

You don't necessarily need a formal qualification - relevant hands-on experience is what matters.
