Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education? Do you have experience working with individuals with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or behavioural challenges? If so, we’d love to hear from you! A specialist Alternative Provision in Bodmin is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their committed and compassionate team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone nurturing, resilient, and motivated to help pupils re-engage with learning and thrive both emotionally and academically. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience supporting children or young people, ideally in SEMH, PRU, care, youth work, or SEND settings Remains calm and consistent under pressure Can build trusting relationships with pupils who have complex needs Is proactive, empathetic, and not afraid of a challenge Can work well as part of a team and follow behaviour support plans confidently In return, the setting offers: A full-time, long-term role in a specialist and supportive environment A passionate team dedicated to changing lives Ongoing training and support, including behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed practice The chance to make a life-changing impact on a young person’s future This role is ideal for someone with a background in education, care, youth work, or support work who is looking to step into a more specialised and meaningful role.
