Job Description:

Secondary School Teaching Assistant – Be the Steady Hand!

Location: Lewisham
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate

Looking to make a real difference without being centre stage?

We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Lewisham that’s on the lookout for a brilliant Teaching Assistant to join their team. You’ll be that trusted, steady presence—supporting students who need a bit of extra help to thrive in the classroom.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students across a range of subjects (don’t worry, no need to be an expert in everything!)
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support, especially in core subjects like English and Maths
  • Helping students stay focused, organised, and confident throughout their day
  • Being part of a friendly, inclusive school community that values every member of staff

What we’re looking for:

  • Some experience supporting young people—this could be in schools, youth work, or other settings
  • A patient, encouraging approach (you’re the calm in the corridor chaos!)
  • Someone who can build positive relationships and knows how to cheer students on, even on the tough days
  • Thrive trained? Fab! If not, we offer this as a free qualification to help you stand out and grow your skills

What you’ll get from us:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella company headaches
  • FREE Thrive and CPD training to keep you moving forward
  • Your own supportive consultant who really listens
  • Opportunities in great local schools
  • Quick and friendly registration to get you started fast
  • Ready to jump in? Apply now and let’s find you a role where you can make a real impact.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
