A Specialist School in Devizes is looking for a Graduate to join their team as a full-time Teaching Assistant starting in September. The school caters to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including children with complex trauma and attachment disorders, as well as generalized anxiety and behavior difficulties.

Your role will include supporting students throughout the school day, aiding their academic learning and interpersonal skills. You will use therapeutic and restorative methods to help each child regulate their emotions, increase their self-esteem, and cope with mental health difficulties. Additionally, you will provide general assistance to the class teacher and liaise with on-site Psychologists and Therapists to ensure each child's educational needs are met effectively.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate (Psychology or Criminology would be ideal) to gain experience in the mental health field. You will gain insight into how trauma manifests in behavior and learn about therapeutic and restorative practices used to address these issues. This experience will serve as a foundation for future training as a Psychologist, Therapist, or Counsellor.
