Job summary

East Sussex County Council is recruiting for Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor Assistant roles. The positions are part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year) with an annual leave entitlement and pro rata salary.

Start date in September 2026 with a fixed-term of 11 months; closing date 8 September 2026. Typical duties include supporting pupils with diverse needs, preparing learning activities, and delivering lessons as required.

Responsibilities

• Support small groups and individual pupils with a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
• Deliver intervention groups for pupils with SEND, or be willing to undertake relevant training.
• Provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO regarding pupils’ learning, progress and behaviour strategies.
• Deliver whole-class lessons and activities for up to 30% of employed time throughout the school year.
