Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. You will support students with SEND, help them engage in learning, and work closely with teachers to tailor activities that build confidence and independence.

Ideal candidates have experience with children or young people in education or care settings, demonstrate patience and empathy, and can work well both independently and as part of a team. DBS and safeguarding checks apply.

Responsibilities

  • Support students one-to-one or in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Provide support for students with SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe learning environment.
  • Support students during lessons, breaks and educational activities as required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive educational team in Chesterfield. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional support to help them achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored assistance to learners with a range of needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or within small groups.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
