Job summary

Parkfield Primary School in Wolverhampton is seeking a dedicated classroom support assistant to help deliver engaging activities and provide tailored support for students. You will work with the class teacher and staff to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment that encourages every child to participate and grow.

You will need warmth, flexibility and a genuine commitment to helping children flourish, with clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with teachers, parents

Qualifications

• A highly motivated, adaptable and flexible practitioner who enjoys working in a busy primary school environment.
• Clear and kind communication with children, along with professional communication with teachers, parents and carers.
• An understanding that children have different needs and learn in different ways, with a willingness to support each child effectively.
• Experience of working collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and other colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
• Experience of assisting teachers with lesson delivery, supporting individuals and small groups, and helping pupils remain engaged and on task.
• A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to the life of the school.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups or the whole class, helping to promote effective teaching and learning.
• Provide valuable support during lessons by helping children stay engaged, focused and ready to learn.
• Step in to supervise the whole class and deliver pre-prepared activities during short-term teacher absence, ensuring continuity and calm throughout the school day.
• Support the teacher with the day-to-day organisation and management of pupils and the classroom, contributing to a positive and orderly learning environment.
• Promote inclusion for all pupils, supporting children with SEND and helping to ensure that every child has equal opportunities to learn, progress and achieve.
• Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children across the school, always acting with care, professionalism and integrity.
