Job summary

Acer Academy in Salford is recruiting a Teaching Assistant Level 3 to support pupils aged 11-16 with Autism and SEMH, under the direction of teaching and senior staff.

The role focuses on enabling access to learning, delivering planned activities to individuals and groups, promoting independence and a trauma-informed approach to behaviour, and helping pupils transition to adulthood. It is a permanent, full-time post (36 hours/week plus 5 PPD days).

Responsibilities

• Support access to learning across a broad and adapted curriculum
• Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups and occasionally whole classes
• Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and develop independence
• Contribute to a consistent, trauma-informed and relational approach to behaviour and engagement
• Help prepare pupils for successful transition into adulthood and greater independence
