Job summary

Qualifications

• Has experience of working with primary-aged children
• Experience of delivering learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes
• Confidence, knowledge and skills to lead learning and provide whole-class cover when required
• Secure understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly English and Mathematics
• Able to use effective questioning and feedback to promote progress
• High expectations of achievement, behaviour and personal development for all pupils
• Can support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
• Patient, nurturing, resilient and committed to helping every child
• Can monitor, assess and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers
• Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider school community

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across the school through targeted intervention, classroom support and planned learning activities
• Working with individuals, groups and whole classes to enhance pupil achievement and progress
• Delivering planned lessons and learning activities under the direction of teaching staff
• Providing high-quality class cover and leading learning when teachers are absent or released for leadership
• Supporting pupils with additional needs and ensuring all children can access learning successfully
• Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and pupil wellbeing
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress and contributing to assessment processes
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support high-quality outcomes for pupils
• Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting school events and activities where appropriate
