Job summary

Saint Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy in Knowsley seeks dedicated educational support staff to work with and supervise pupils, aiding access to learning and assisting with classroom management.

You will support high quality teaching, lead targeted interventions, promote wellbeing and inclusion, and oversee the school library as part of the school's values.

Responsibilities

• To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children, under the direction of teaching staff.
• To support high quality teaching and learning within a school environment, including SEND pupils.
• To lead targeted interventions and provide specialist support within agreed curriculum areas under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo.
• To promote pupil wellbeing, inclusion and positive behaviour in line with the school's policies.
• To lead foundational knowledge and oversee the school library and all it has to offer our students.

Job description

To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children, under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques and providing specialist support in a specific curricula/resource area.

To support high quality teaching and learning within a school environment, enabling all pupils, including those with SEND, to achieve their full academic, social, emotional and spiritual potential.

To lead targeted interventions and provide specialist support within agreed curriculum areas under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo.

To promote pupil wellbeing, inclusion, independence and positive behaviour in line with the school's values and policies.

To lead foundational knowledge and oversee the school library and all it has to offer our students.
