The school wishes to appoint a Teaching Assistant with experience of working with students with special needs, including those with Educational Healthcare Plans, their families, and supporting agencies. The role focuses on helping to support learning and the development of positive behaviour and social skills for students diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorders. The successful applicant will work within the Speech and Language resource provision, liaising with teachers, parents, and therapists to support the children. We seek an outstanding and caring professional who can:

  • Work directly with DLD students within the resource provision; working under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom.
  • This includes acquiring and using specialist knowledge in particular areas and assisting the teacher in planning, managing, and preparing resources.
  • Supervise the resource provision during the absence of a Lead teacher / Level 4 Teaching Assistant.
