Job summary

Saint Paul's Catholic High School in Manchester is inviting applications for two Teaching Assistants Level 2 SAN on a permanent basis. The roles are full-time for 35 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, including inset days, to support learners with high needs.

Applicants with experience of EHCPs and SEND requirements are particularly welcome; you will work under teachers to deliver therapy programmes and ILPs while helping maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

Job description

Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust wishes to appoint 2 x Teaching Assistants Level 2 SAN at Saint Paul's Catholic High School on a permanent basis.

The position will be full-time for 35 hours per week on a term time only basis over 39 weeks a year (to include Inset days).

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who have experience of working with children with high needs, EHCPs and a variety of SEND needs.

The main duties of the role:
  • To provide support for students who require help to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Provide specialist support in a specific area of the curriculum
  • Work with groups of students under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of therapy programmes of work and the implementation of ILPs
  • Assist the teacher to ensure a safe classroom and outdoor environment
  • Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes for a session / lesson in the classroom or outside the main teaching area as required
