Job summary

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Knowsley is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 plus SEN allowance to support a Year 4 child with special educational needs in our school. This fixed-term, part-time role (25 hours per week) runs during term time, with a daily start 8:30 and finish 2:30, and a current pay band of SCP 5-6 with SEN enhancements.

The successful candidate will work within a learning community committed to improvement, showing warmth, professionalism and a passion for helping

Qualifications

• Have experience of working with children with SEND needs?
• Have recent experience in working in KS2?
• Currently possess First Aid qualifications or willingness to train?
• Possess a warm and welcoming personality?
• Have artistic flair and an enthusiastic approach?
• Have high level interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills?
• Have the willingness to support the continued development of this happy and successful school?
• Have experience of working with children with ASC/ADHD?
• Have experience of providing a sensory programme?

Teaching Assistant Level 2 plus SEN allowance

• Hours: 25 hours per week.

Pay Band D / SCP 5-6

£26,427 – 26,847 plus SEN of £1,539 pro rata per annum (pay award pending)

Actual SEN: £1,229 per annum

25 hours per week, 46 weeks per year – contract subject to enhanced provision funding and needs of child remaining unchanged.

Current role will start at 8.30 am and finish at 2:30 pm

The Governors of wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to support the learning of a Y4 child with special educational needs in our school.
