Job summary

Dean Trust Ardwick is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support learning and pupil care within a dedicated school team in Manchester. The role works under guidance from teaching staff to enable access to learning and assist with classroom management.

Key tasks include supervising pupils, supporting those with special needs, and helping implement Personal Care and Behaviour plans while promoting inclusion and positive student development.

Qualifications

• Work under instruction from teaching staff to undertake work, care and support programmes.
• Enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher with classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring safety and access to learning activities.
• Assist with development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
• Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact according to individual needs.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
• Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
• Set challenging expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
• Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress under guidance of the teacher.
