Job summary

St George’s CE Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2/3 to support a Year 2 deaf pupil. Responsibilities include teaching BSL, conducting English and Maths sessions, and collaborating with the Teacher of the Deaf. St George’s CE Primary School Governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (BSL Level 3 trained) to support a deaf child in Year 2 (from September 2025).

Main duties include:

  • Supporting a KS1 deaf pupil within a mainstream setting.
  • Teaching BSL to the deaf pupil and leading a 15-minute daily BSL session for peers.
  • Conducting one-to-one English and Maths sessions in a distraction-free area.
  • Liaising weekly with the Teacher of the Deaf.
  • Supporting the pupil throughout their primary education.
  • Willingness to complete TA2 qualification if not already qualified.
  • Experience working with children and deaf children.

Note: We will not consider candidates requiring sponsorship for this position.
