About the Role

Date Required: ASAP

St George’s CE Primary School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (BSL level trained) to work 1-1 with a deaf child in year 1.

Main duties include:

  • Supporting the individual child to access the curriculum through 1-1 support and small group activities, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Delivering daily whole-class teaching of BSL.
  • Collaborating regularly with a teacher from Salford’s Deaf Education Team.
  • Communicating effectively with staff, pupils, and outside agencies.

St George’s maintains high standards and offers training opportunities for staff. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; this role requires a fully enhanced DBS check.
