Job summary

Mesne Lea Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join Prestolee Multi Academy Trust. The role requires experience as a TA Level 2 in a primary setting and a Level 2 TA/Childcare qualification with Level 2 English and Maths.

The successful candidate will support pupils individually and in groups, assist with resources, and promote positive behaviour within an inclusive learning environment. The fixed-term post lasts until August 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Teaching Assistant Level 2 in a primary school setting.
• Level 2 TA or Childcare qualification plus Level 2 English and Maths (or GCSE 4/C+).
• Experience supporting individual pupils and small groups to reach potential.
• Ability to support pupils with diverse learning needs including SEND.
• Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
• Strong team working and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Calm, organised and flexible approach; ability to work under pressure.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive learning environment.
• Desire for continued professional development and career progression.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Prestolee Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our team at Mesne Lea Primary School. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Teaching Assistant and hold a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification.

This is a fixed-term position until August 2027.

About You

We are looking for a person who has:

1. Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (or above) in a primary school setting.
2. A relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification, together with Level 2 English and Maths (or GCSE Grade 4/C or above).
3. Experience of supporting individual pupils and small groups to achieve their full potential.
4. The ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs, including children with Special Educational Needs.
5. Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
6. Excellent team working skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
7. A calm, organised and flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure.
8. A commitment to safeguarding, promoting children's wellbeing and supporting an inclusive learning environment.
9. A desire for continued professional development and career progression.
10. Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.

The Role

The successful candidate will:
