Job summary

Prestolee Multi Academy Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join Mesne Lea Primary School. The role requires prior TA experience and a Level 2 TA or Childcare qualification, with Level 2 English and Maths or GCSE 4/C+.

The successful candidate will support individual pupils and small groups, assist with resources, and promote positive behaviour within an inclusive learning environment. The Trust emphasises professional development and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (or above) in a primary school setting.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills and ability to support varied learning needs.
• Hold a Level 2 TA or Childcare qualification with Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
• Able to support individual pupils and small groups to reach potential.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning through high-quality classroom practice.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils make progress.
• Assist teachers in preparing learning resources and maintaining an engaging classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support learning and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including visits and extracurricular activities.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
