Teaching Assistant (Level 2) – Wirral, Merseyside

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant in Wirral, your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery on both a whole-class and individual basis. You will prepare learning resources, support children pastorally, and contribute to assessing student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher to meet each child's needs. Supporting inclusive practices, SEND support, and positive behaviour management are vital aspects of this role. Building strong relationships with children, colleagues, and parents is essential to foster a nurturing educational environment.

Key Duties
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of lessons aligned with early years frameworks
  • Preparing resources to facilitate engaging and inclusive learning activities
  • Assisting with pupil assessment and providing feedback for progress reviews
  • Supporting children with SEND to ensure they can access and participate fully in learning activities
  • Managing behaviour positively and promoting a safe, supportive environment
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Essential Requirements
  • A Level 2 (or above) qualification in Teaching Assistance or willingness to undertake this on appointment
  • Proven experience in supporting high-quality early years education, particularly in phonics and mastery-based maths
  • Good understanding of early years development and educational frameworks
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and SEND support
  • Ability to develop positive relationships and work effectively within a team
  • Enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK
