Job summary

St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic High School in Rochdale is seeking a Level 2 school support postholder to work under teaching staff, assisting with learning activities and ensuring pupil safety. The role focuses on supporting teachers, students and the school as part of a collaborative team.

You will contribute to safeguarding, promote inclusive practice and build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to help raise educational attainment and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or caring for children in a school or care setting.
• Able to organise and manage learning activities to keep children safe.
• Aware of inclusion and its application in a school setting.

Job description

It is expected at Level 2 that the postholder will work under the direction of teaching staff and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan to enable access to learning which will be in addition to undertaking the core duties of supporting the teacher, students and the school.

• Experience of working with &/or caring for children.
• The ability to organise and manage learning activities in way which keep children safe.
• Awareness of, and commitment to inclusion in a school setting.
• Awareness and understanding of school curriculum.
• The ability to establish fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children and young people.
