Job summary

Ashwood Spencer Academy is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support learning in Early Years and Year 2. The role focuses on patience, empathy and strong behaviour management to help pupils progress.

The academy aims to inspire a love of learning through creative, differentiated activities and close collaboration with teaching staff and the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the delivery of creative and innovative approaches to learning, driving differentiated planning and resourcing to impact on all pupils' learning.
  • Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and support them where necessary.
  • Assist teaching staff in Early Years and Year 2 to accelerate pupil progress.

The successful candidates must be:

  • Able to understand how different pupils learn and the barriers some face to their learning.

  • Successful in encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and support them where necessary

Ashwood Spencer Academy joined Spencer Academies Trust in November 2018 and has gone from strength to strength each academic year. We have approximately 670 pupils on roll from nursery to year 6 and we are proud of our changing, diverse school community.
