Job summary

St James C E Primary School in Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 for 15.50 hours per week. The post is initially 12 months with the view to permanence, supporting learning and development across key activities.

The successful applicant will work with the class teacher to support pupils individually and in groups, helping them access learning, build confidence and progress, in a caring Christian school community.

Qualifications

• TA Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children within an educational setting.
• Able to support children individually and in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Work with individual pupils and groups to help access learning and make progress.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working five mornings per week.

The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning within the classroom. The role will involve working with individual pupils and groups of children, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and independence, and make good progress.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has high expectations and believes that every child can achieve their full potential.
• Can support children's learning effectively, both individually and in small groups.
• Is resilient, flexible and adaptable, and able to respond positively to the needs of a busy classroom.
• Works effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative and independence.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with children, colleagues and families.
• Holds a TA Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and has experience of supporting children within an educational setting.
