Grange School in Manchester seeks a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development under supervision. The role is permanent, 35 hours/week, term-time plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £22,730.

Qualifications

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to join our fantastic team at Grange School.

This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £22,730 and the full time equivalent is £26,427 Grade 3.

About the role:

As a Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN, you will work under the supervision of teaching staff and the senior leadership team to support pupils' learning, wellbeing, and development. You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils to become happy, confident and successful young adults.

Key responsibilities include:

• Have an understanding of the Teaching Assistant role and child development and learning
• Possesses strong literacy and numeracy skills (qualified to Level 2 or above)
• Works effectively as part of a team and is committed to high professional standards
• Is tactful, diplomatic, and able to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
• Has experience or a keen interest in working with children or young people with communication difficulties, severe, profound, or complex learning needs
• Can communicate clearly and confidently in spoken English

Grange School

The Grange School in Levenshulme, Manchester, provides 247 day places for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
