ACET is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support learning and teaching across the academy. The role welcomes graduates seeking experience and those with prior work with children, including phonics experience for primary learners.

The post is based at Shirebrook Academy within the ACET multi-academy trust. You will work 32 hours 30 minutes per week during term time, with some INSET day coverage as directed and additional payment for those days at short notice.

About this Role

ACET is a forward thinking and rapidly developing multi-academy trust. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic part time Teaching Assistant to support the learning and teaching of children and young people.

This role may be attractive to those who may already have experience of / or working with children in any setting and who may therefore have relevant skills and knowledge they wish to develop, the applicant must have a good understanding of how children develop and learn. Applications are welcome from graduates seeking to gain experience in an educational environment and from primary colleagues who have experience of delivering phonics programmes.

Working 32 hours 30 minutes per week term time only. Including working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed by the school, with availability to work any or all of the remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise, and for which additional payment will be made.

Under the guidance of Senior Inclusion Leads the Teaching Assistant will

• Promote and support student/pupil access to the curriculum
• Support children in their learning
• Work with class groups, small groups and individuals including delivering a range of interventions
• Model and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour
• Have a willingness to be fully involved in the life of the academy
• Act as a keyworker
• Be committed to CPDL
• You will be expected to work across all areas of SEND and Inclusion in order to meet the needs of all learners

The role is based at Shirebrook Academy but you may be required to work in other academies within the trust.

Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level.
