Job summary

Windermere Primary School is seeking a caring and supportive teaching assistant to join our team. You will work with teachers and the SENCo to support teaching and learning and help children overcome barriers to learning.

The role includes supervising small groups or 1:1, assisting with an adapted curriculum, and providing lunch-time supervision. A good standard of written and spoken English is essential, and safeguarding commitments apply.

• Experience with supporting children in school is essential.
• Ability to support learning with a differentiated approach.

• Supervise activities for small groups or 1:1, enabling all children to overcome their barriers to learning
• Support children to develop and maintain positive behaviours for learning and community
• Support the teaching team to establish appropriate learning for our children
• Work with our teachers to offer a differiated curriculum when needed
• Assist with break time supervision and cover a lunchtime duty each day, including facilitating gamesand activities.

We are looking for a self-motivated and hard-working individual to join our highly skilled team of professionals. A good standard of written and spoken English are essentail.

The successful candidate will:

• Be confident and open to work with children including those withSEND
• Be a committed practitioner with high expectations of our children and of themselves
• Be hardworking, a team player and have a sense of humour
• Be able to follow professional advice and implement appropriate strategies to support learning
• Have a good command of English and basic level of maths skills in order to support pupils
• Be able to work on their own initiative and manage and organise their time effectively
• Show commitment to the safeguarding of children

Previous experience working with children in school is essential.

The post is for up to 5 days per week 8:30am-3:30pm to include a lunch duty. Term time only.
