Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is helping a two-form entry primary school in Barnet, London, hire Teaching Assistants for KS1 & KS2 on a term-time contract. The role supports pupils' learning, development and wellbeing across the curriculum and with additional needs, working closely with SENCo and other professionals.

The position requires a calm, reliable, professional approach, excellent communication, safeguarding knowledge and the ability to collaborate with staff to deliver inclusive lessons

Qualifications

• Calm, reliable, and professional approach with children and staff.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and inclusive practice.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Familiarity with National Curriculum or Early Years Framework is desirable.
• Prior TA experience (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils to help them feel secure and valued.
• Support learning across the curriculum with engaging, motivating strategies.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, liaising with SENCo and SLT.
• Promote inclusion and celebrate diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Use play, conversation, and interventions to support language, literacy, numeracy and growth.
• Monitor and report pupil progress to class teachers.
