Job summary

Hartley Brook Primary Academy in Sheffield is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support our Key Stage 1 pupils. You will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence in a nurturing environment.

Working closely with teachers and other staff, you will contribute to both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, preparing resources, supporting behaviour, and promoting inclusive practice across the class.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with or caring for children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of child development and effective learning strategies.
  • A patient, adaptable and inclusive approach to supporting all pupils.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed and thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote independence
  • Assist in the implementation of Personal Provision Plans and monitor pupil progress
  • Prepare classroom resources, materials and displays to support teaching and learning

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils’ individual needs
  • Participate in playground duties and enrichment or extracurricular activities

Hartley Brook Primary Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting pupils at an important stage in their learning journey.

Working closely with teachers and wider staff, you will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will contribute to a positive and engaging classroom, supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, while building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
