Job summary

Oasis Community Learning in Southampton is inviting applicants to join its internal supply pool as Supply Teaching Assistants across Lord's Hill, Mayfield and Sholing. You will support students in classrooms, assist teachers, and help create inclusive learning experiences while building strong relationships with staff and pupils.

Flexibility is key: you choose when and how often you work, enjoy early access to shifts, and have the chance to gain valuable experience across an all-through academy

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Level 2 minimum).
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience).
  • Ability to support and motivate students of all abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in the classroom, both individually and in small groups.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Provide targeted support for students with additional needs.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, and student needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support student wellbeing.

Join Our Own Supply Pool at our Oasis Academies in Southampton!

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people in their learning? Our Oasis Academies across Southampton (Lord's Hill, Mayfield and Sholing) are expanding their in-house supply team and are looking for dedicated Supply Teaching Assistants to join us.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work flexibly within a supportive and inclusive school environment, where you'll play a key role in helping students succeed. What You'll Be Doing

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Level 2 minimum)
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, patient approach
  • The ability to support and motivate students of all abilities
  • Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, and resilience
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an education, care, or pastoral setting
  • A commitment to safeguarding and professional development
  • Above all, reliability, adaptability, and a positive attitude
