Job summary

St Mary of Charity CofE (Aided) Primary School in Kent is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. You will work with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, creating an inclusive classroom where every child can thrive.

In this 30-hour per week, term-time role you will support small groups and individuals, help deliver activities, monitor progress, and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
• Work in small groups to help pupils access the curriculum
• Assist with planning and delivering learning activities
• Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
• Support pupils with SEN, behavioural, or emotional needs as required
• Contribute to assessments, record‑keeping, and reporting on pupil progress
• Supervise pupils during break times, transitions, and school activities
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies
