Hangleton Primary School in England is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of teaching staff and deliver specialized support programmes. You won’t just be “helping out” — you will be a vital link in ensuring every child, regardless of challenges, can engage with the curriculum and thrive.

This role includes an additional 1/2 hour lunch-time duty and may involve working at both Benfield and Hangleton sites as linked schools.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with significant needs and social/communication difficulties.
  • Completion Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant.
  • Solid understanding of the national curriculum, child development, and basic learning strategies.
  • Ability to work constructively within a team while self-evaluating your own learning needs.
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills and the ability to use ICT and other classroom technology effectively to support learning.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide tailored support for pupils with significant needs, ensuring their safety and full access to learning activities.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans
  • Work flexibly with colleagues to successfully deliver planned intervention programmes.
  • Set challenging expectations that promote self-esteem and encourage pupil independence.
  • Use strategies to promote the inclusion of all pupils and encourage social interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Specialised Pupil Support: Supervise and provide tailored support for pupils with significant needs, ensuring their safety and full access to learning activities.
  • IEP Implementation: Assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans
  • Intervention Delivery: Work flexibly with colleagues to successfully deliver planned intervention programmes.
  • Foster Independence: Set challenging expectations that promote self-esteem and encourage pupil independence.
  • Communication & Inclusion: Use strategies to promote the inclusion of all pupils and encourage social interaction.
What You Bring

We are seeking a candidate who balancesprofessional skill with genuine heart. The ideal applicant will have:

  • Experience: Proven experience working with children of a relevant age, specifically those with significant needs and social/communication difficulties.
  • Qualifications: Completion Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant
